On the drive back from #Trinco, it was 4 PM when we were passing through #Puttalam Town looking to get some lunch. The locals advised that the best place to get a decent meal at this time would be the Govt. Rest House. Was a little doubtful but what we found was a nice old rest house with a clean toilet (you have to pay 50 Rs. coz some people just come in for this), 1970s style lobby and dimly lit bar. Sharma, the caretaker said that they get quite a few tourists dropping in for a pit stop and a meal. Right afterwards he served us a very nice rice and curry and 'kiri pani' (curd 'n treacle) which he said was fresh from the farm next door! #SriLanka #Travel Follow @mevanpeiris on Instagram
