"2010: The Expansion of Hyper-Presidentialism" An architectural illustration by Channa Daswatte of the detrimental 18th amendment to the Constitution of #SriLanka. This essentially took away all limitations of power from the Executive Presidency while also taking away the finite time that one person could hold the position. As shown in the model, it looks all powerful from the outside, but internally it was never sustainable and bound to crumble. Well I guess this structure did crumble on the 8th of January 2015. What will be both interesting and crucial to see will be what we the architects (the people and their representatives the politicians) come up with and build as the new #constitution which is rumoured to be drafted soon! #Politics #Architecture #Art #Exhibition Follow @mevanpeiris on Instagram
