A nod to the Royal Cypher of Queen Elizabeth II at the Old General Post Office, #Colombo where #CinnamonColomboscope will take place in a few days. E.R. Stands for "Elizabeth Regina" and in many colonial countries including #SriLanka the Cypher can still be seen in some buildings especially those related to Postal Services (most Post boxes too). When was the last time you saw the #RoyalCypher? Snap and tag @cinnamoncolomboscope Follow @mevanpeiris on Instagram

The Main door at the Ena de Silva House. This was brought from the old house and fitted in but probably was an antique piece originally used in a #Kovil or similar religious building Follow @mevanpeiris on Instagram

The Ena de Silva House is probably the most impressive Structure Relocation in #SriLanka. The House was originally built by #GeoffreyBawa in 1963 in #Colombo Thereafter once the land was sold, the Bawa Trust with the help of various #architects, students and volunteers measured every inch of the property (including the pebbles and bricks on the floor!), did a measured drawing, disassembled the building brick by brick (literally) and reassembled it in #Lunuganga on a Bawa owne property. After seeing this recreation I have to agree that measuring stones on the ground may not be a waste of time after all! Follow @mevanpeiris on Instagram
